FAQs

The brand is based in France, in Le Mans.

All watches are designed and studied in Le Mans.

We have the components of our watches manufactured in different locations around the world, mainly in China and Japan.

It is then in Le Mans that our timepieces see the light of day in the hands of the Manseaux watchmakers who take care to assemble, adjust and test each of the BegHof brand watches.

Each order is processed within 2 business days of ordering.

The package is shipped the day after the order is processed by our teams.

Each package is shipped by colissimo and generally takes 2 working days to be delivered.

Yes, all BegHof watches are automatic. They run on the power of the wrist, so if you don't wear them for several days, the mechanism stops.

It will therefore be sufficient to wind it manually and reset it to the correct time.

Simply turn the crown clockwise about fifteen times and your wrist movements will take over.

Beware of the death zone!

Setting the date may seem easy but there is one mistake you should not make!

The date should never be changed between 9 p.m. and 3 a.m. , otherwise there is a risk of damaging the movement .

Here's what to do:

- Set the time to 6:00 (to make sure you are not in the death zone).

- Set the date for the day before.

- Advance the time until the date turns.

- Finally, set the time, taking into account that the first turn of the dial will be in the morning.

First set the date for the day before! Then pull the crown out to the second notch, turn the hands clockwise until midnight (the date will change) and then to the desired time.

The power reserve is the time the movement runs before it stops when the mechanism is 100% wound.

The mechanism is wound by turning the crown. The oscillating weight of an automatic watch is used to maintain or slightly wind the movement.

- BegHof watches equipped with the 8315 caliber benefit from 60 hours of power reserve when fully wound. The manufacturer's recommendation for fully winding this movement is 51 turns of the crown.

- The other calibers present in BegHof watches benefit from 42 hours of power reserve when fully wound. The manufacturer's recommendation for fully winding these movements is 40 turns of the crown.

BegHof watches are guaranteed within the tolerances given by the manufacturer Citizen Miyota.

However, some models are set in the workshop to -3/+6sec.

These adjustments are made on average over several positions and may vary depending on use, possible shocks suffered by the watch and the level of winding of the movement.

The adjustments made to each of the movements by the BefHof brand are a guarantee of quality even if the guarantee of the watch in terms of precision is based exclusively on the manufacturer's values of the movement and only on condition that the movement is fully wound and that the watch has not suffered any shock.

BegHof watches are waterproof and between 5ATM and 10ATM.

The water resistance of a watch is often expressed in ATM (atmospheres), a unit corresponding approximately to the pressure exerted by a 10-meter column of water. Thus, a 5 ATM watch is theoretically resistant up to 50 meters , and a 10 ATM watch up to 100 meters .

However, these values are estimates based on laboratory tests, in static conditions. In reality, the pressure experienced by the watch can be much greater, even at shallow depths. For example, during a dive or strong movement in the water, the pressure exerted greatly exceeds the theoretical hydrostatic pressure. It is therefore possible that a 10 ATM watch, although water-resistant in static immersion to 100 meters, experiences a pressure much higher than 10 bars from 1 or 2 meters deep due to the speed of entry into the water.

This is why it is important to follow the manufacturers' recommendations carefully:

• A 5 ATM watch is suitable for splashing and surface swimming, but not for diving.

• A 10 ATM watch is suitable for calm swimming or suitable swimming but is insufficient for scuba diving, water sports, repeated dives, or any activity involving sudden pressure variations.

It is also important to take into account that the waterproofness of the case is one thing but that the parts present in the bracelet and the buckle are also sensitive to water and can present accelerated deterioration upon contact with water.
